Question Answer Area:

Below are articles pertaining to questions or conversations I have had with members-

Question: "Do Planets produce their own luminosity (light)?"

Answer: According to: nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/planet

"Because planets do not have nuclear fusion, they do not produce their own light.
Instead, they shine with light reflected from a star."

Lunar Watch Event Photos:

Below are some photos we captured during the 9-14-19 Lunar Watch Event.
It was cloudy and overcast off and on in the first and last part of the evening but it cleared up for some spectacular views of the full moon.
We were able to capture these images just through the eyepiece of the telescope with our phones, click on the images below to view.

Welcome to Astronomy Starts Here!

Ash is a private astronomy club designed for those who
are not experts at astronomy but have an interest in
learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. If you
have an astronomical level of knowledge already, this
may not be of interest to you.

I have placed information above that I believe will
explain some key elements for a beginner to know.

Also included is, and will continue to be, information
that I find fascinating and useful.

Please enjoy the site!
